John Rawnsley was born and raised in the Territory – a descendant of both the Larrakia and Anmatjerre peoples.
As a young boy he lived at Uluru and then briefly at Kakadu, before moving to Darwin where he lived and was educated. In 2007 John attained a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Studies from Charles Darwin University and is currently studying a Graduate Diploma Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
John is now back in Central Australia with his young family. He works as the Leadership Development Manager for Desert Knowledge Australia and is a highly respected Alderman on the Alice Springs Town Council.
John is proud to be a Statehood Champion and is looking forward to raising in his children in Australia’s seventh State.
